Graduation!!
May 9, 2002

May 9 arrives - a warm, overcast day which promised to be quite eventful and utterly boring.  Of course, that was BEFORE Alishya's mother had to be taken to the emergency room with allergies - but that's a different story.  Covered in our borrowed robes and caps, we plowed down the aisle armed with red roses and big smiles... today was our day. As it turned out, however, our day wasn't to begin for a good two hours as speeches and undergrad awards took up much of the ceremony. But finally, we walked the fateful walk up the platform, past Jos and down the stairs to return to our seats thankful that we didn't fall or make some sort of fool of ourselves. With fake degrees in hand, we listened to the wise words of Mercedee and and then stood for the final congratulations as a promise of Masters degress hung in the air.

Final group photo - the end of a wonderful day!

The graduation ended, but the week of running around with our families continued for days to come... here are some nifty shots of us and the fams!

Fams!
Katie's mom was taking the picture, so she's not in it but we present the fams of Katie and Missy outside a pub -
how very appropriate!

Rustom, Mom and Parveen        Parveen and my mother
Lucky for me, some close friends from India came to London while my mother was in town. We took Rustom and Parveen around London at a fast pace much to their dismay  :)

Lisa and Greenie
My roommate gave me the best present of all - her being in London for my graduation! She came armed with blowhorns, balloons and other noise-making objects which caused quite the uproar when my name was called. I couldn't have asked for a better gift and I thank her and Greenie profusely.
Love you guys!!

Greenie         Waffles?
The best thing of Lisa and Greenie being in London is that they took pictures of EVERYTHING... especially the food! At every meal, the food was arranged in a aesthetic manner so as to provide the best photo. I can't imagine what their photo album looks like, but I imagine that it's quite mouth-watering!

Mom and John
And finally, mom left London after a grueling struggle with allergies. Our taxi driver, John (featured above), gave my mom all the assurances that a mother needs when she leaves her daughter in a foreign country. Hehe, it was quite an experience!

Congratulations, Masters students of 2002!!
