Bath
During our fall break, we decided that
Bath might be a nice place to visit - not for any specific reason except
to get out of London for the day. Even though it rained continusouly,
we saw a multitude of fudge shops, a beautiful Abbey, and steaming Roman
baths... it was a wonderful day!
Melissa and Alishya (can you tell that I was eating something?? hehe)
On the beautiful train ride to Bath, we saw sheep and goats and rolling
meadows - it was like the Sound of Music but ... not. This is us on the
train preparing for our exquisite day!
Mercedee and Katie
Typical street scenes in the town of Bath - isn't it utterly cute here??
:)
Here's Mercedee under a BIIIIIIG tree :)
As tourists, we frequented all the famous places, including the home
of the Sally Lunn Bunn (say that five times fast!)
Bath Abbey
Alishya and Melissa - tourists!! :)
This is the facade of the Abbey which we didn't get to look at long since
it immediately started raining... sigh
The interior of the Abbey
This is probably the only church that I've ever been in where they encouraged
me to take pictures... I found that not sneaking around was definitely
something I could get used to!
Me, after I bought the biggest umbrella for only 4 pounds... people actually
parted in front of me because it was so big!! I felt all important and whatnot
(totally sad!)
On the walls were hundreds of tombs... indeed, they took up almost every
square inch of wall and floor space. This tomb was for a women who happened
to die on the same day that we were at the church, which struck me as interesting
and eery... It was her dress choice that struck me most - is there some
hidden meaning in being exposed after death??
Mercedee at the abbey
The beginning of fall was just starting to show itself and we collected
leaves to remember the beauty of seasons... of course, that was before Katie
and Missy started vandalizing the ivy on the building :)
Katie in her garden
After a walk around the Circus and a quick glance at the famed Royal
Crescent (a row of houses in a crescent shape), we flocked off to the Botanical
gardens which were incredibly lovely. Of course, we almost lost Mercedee
in her trek to the bathroom... :)

Landscape scenes
Beautiful river scenes
Pulteney Bridge was designed in 1769-74... it was cool.
Here are the steamy Roman Baths which was extremely fascinating - especially
the part where I nearly fell down the stairs and made a big racket, when Katie
was imitating the man on the phone guide (seen above), and our gross experience
with the fresh mineral water. Yup, it was quite entertaining...
Group shot!!
This picture took SO LONG to take!! The woman that we chose to take it
could not, for the life of her, figure out which button was the picture-taking
button. Instead, she was zooming, and then moving backwards and forwards,
and then some more zooming and then finally, after some 5 minutes, we reached
success! Sheesh.
And thus concludes our trip to Bath...
