TRAVELS AROUND ITALY
PISA![]()
When Tammy and Lisa came to visit, the one place they both wanted to go was Pisa. We saw
the Field of Miracles, climbed the Leaning Tower and had some of the best gelato in the
world!

This is a town that is clearly centered around the Tower.. these signs were everywhere!

Campo dei Miracoli, with the Duomo of Pisa and its famed belltower

All of us girls hanging out by the Tower... Alishya seems to have been the most affected!

Lisa and Alishya ate some of the BEST gelato in Pisa... so good that Lisa wanted to go
back for seconds within a matter of minutes!

BOLOGNA![]()
Lisa was desperate to get to Bologna where the best food in Italy supposedly resides. She
read about this posh restaurant in a book, we went there and found we were quite
underdressed and we cruised around the whole city in a matter of hours. It was an exciting
daytrip and I can't wait till we go back for more food!!

Lisa in the Galleries of Bologna... we cruised through some stores and searched for
perfumes and Bologna-related items :)

The roads of Bologna... not so good for stilettos, I would imagine.
CINQUE TERRE![]()
On our second week break in April, final papers were looming and stress was growing.
Katie and Missy, amidst the tension, decided to flock off to Cinque Terre - a town
situated on the Italian Riviera and easily noted as one of the most beautiful and romantic
spots in Italy. They had a wonderful day (although exhausting) and came home to tell
Alishya all about it in a nice little Chinese restaurant in Florence.

Gorgeous, isn't it??

SIENA![]()
Siena we all went to twice... once on our own and once for class. Siena is probably one of
my favorite little towns, if only because you feel like you've stepped into the past the
moment your foot hits the cobblestones. Siena is also home to my all-time favorite
Cathedral, which my parents got all excited about (especially after we lost mom in the
midst of tourists).

The Duomo of Siena - a beauty to behold and a wonder to enter

The Palazzo Pubblico, home of famed frescoes by Ambrogio Lorenzetti and site where Alishya
met some people who were discussing a restaurant only blocks from her house in Chicago
(they were from the suburbs).
