A beautiful city.

A view of the Arno and the back of the Uffizi... a beautiful day!

Piazza del Duomo
The Piazza del Duomo... I took this shot since me and Lisa had just been on the balcony above the Change place (the Gucci store). I love the old Florence buildings... reminds me of home, for some reason.

The only really functional park in the center of Florence is the Boboli Gardens which are HUGE and offer a great view of the city. It's a great place for picnics, getting lost, and lounging around amidst the huge manicured trees.

Walking through the Boboli often results in some strange findings. For instance, Alishya found some modern art entitled 'Egg' which luckily did not fall but it was interesting to try. Tammy found the big head which there seems to be a lot less of than I remember. Lisa, being so very tiny, could actually fit INSIDE a tree trunk... an option she didn't really prefer, but she posed for the picture quite nicely  :)

Up above the city lies the Piazzale Michelangelo, so named because there exists one of the famed replicas of Michelangelo's David. It offers the best views of the city and me and Lisa went up there for sunset...

Nobody can come to Florence and escape Sr. David.

Alishya on stairs
Alishya checking out the birdpoop stains on the stairs. After having been pooped on once by a pidgeon (in class, of course), Alishya has been utterly aware of the flying creatures.

Alishya and Lisa
Some nice people from Madison, Wisconsin who happened to be passing by took this picture for us. Roommates!!
