Our trip comes to a close...
Our trip was coming to a close and we knew we would miss it on a major basis. There were a
few more things to do before leaving, such as crossing the tracks to say adios to the
hill...
...say hi to Alishah, who I always credit with giving me my name (even though that's not
true, but I gotta have some cool story)...
...and SHOP, of course!! Dara, Mercedee and I plowed about downtown Ahmednagar looking for
some weird shirts that Mercedee wanted for her brothers and we found them in this nifty
store. After about 15 minutes, Mercedee has made such a mess that even Dara wouldn't look
at it
:)
What a commotion!
Our fave rikshaw driver this time around, Bhau, must have thought we were nuts with all
the shopping we did in this little store. He lounged while we tore the place apart.
Occasionally, he would smile sympathetically with the guys behind the counter. Hehe.
And, finally, our last day arrived. Mercedee said goodbye to her rock, I said goodbye to
the lizard in our room we had named Tex, and mom said goodbye to her foam mattress pads
which she was so happy to have. It was an emotional day, but after making a vow to come
back in a year, it wasn't all that bad.
Here's us with Tom who was, by far, our favorite Pilgrim. He played the air guitar and
would always give a great big smile when we yelled out Hi Tom!!
Theus and Mom... He was super funny this trip!
My mom loves this woman - she's been at the Center since I was really little. What amazes
me is that she always looks exactly the same.
Amiel and Mercedee!
Steve, Mom and Kitty - aren't they cute?
:)
Friends!!
Teri and Mom... and a man smoking in the background. Gotta love those background people!
Mehera and Mercedee saying goodbye!
Love those orange nails, Merc!!
Hey!! There's me and mom! Now, those are some cute girls!
Our last stop - Pune!
Our first stop in Pune was the Meridean where facials, massages, and yummy hot chocolate
were on the menu. It was a FANTASTIC 3 hours of pampering and spaness. Aaaah, to be
relaxed and finally clean after a month in India!
Our lovely Irani family - aren't they the cute, smiley group? :)
Rustom and Eva - aren't they just precious?
Mom and Eva. The weirdest thing about this picture, is that little Eva looks just like me
when I was her age.
Parsi girls!! We got Rustom to find us some Parsi hats ... I think we look sort of silly,
but Mercedee seems to think we're stylish. So there you have it.
Our last night in Pune we went to a Swedish/French/Italian restaurant (which was weird
since we were in India) and we had fondue. Of all things. But it was good, and the decor
was filled with trees, bark-looking items, and mood lighting. What more could you ask for?
:)
Here's Pervin and Mercedee enjoying the cuisine.
And me and mom, enjoying it from the other side of the table.
Home...

Mom, in the car from Pune to Bombay where our plane eagerly awaited us. Notice the
massive luggage behind mom!

And me, on the other side. Since I couldn't find a hat that fit my head before the trip, I
was utilizing mom's for the sun coming in through the window. Guess that didn't fit!
And off we went, from the Bombay airport at 3am, 18 hours on the plane and some in the
middle for layover...
It was a fantastic trip filled with lovely people, good food, and stairs galore. Forever
will I remember this particular trip as being simply peaceful and wonderful.
