Day 7

Day 8

Day 6 and we had decided that we HAD to have another go at the whole fishing thing... I mean, we can't come to the most prolific country for sportfishing and walk away with one tiny fish! Practically a sardine! So we commissioned Captain Al who was recommended to us by Captain Earl at the diving place. Captain Al was a fun fellow, very quick to smile and laugh and we liked him immediately. We had faith in Captain Al as we did not have in our other captains (who, truth be told, I don't think we ever learned the names of).  So 6am, and we're out for another adventure...

Our boat, coming to pick us up!

Even though getting up at 6am sucked, the view was SO worth it once we were on the water.

Aaaah, sunrise!

There were some clouds in the sky, but Captain Al assured us the wind would stay down that day... Thank God, no more bouncing like that last trip! My butt hurt for days after that excursion!

Captain Al gave us the tour as well as took us fishing... "And on your left, we have Michael Jordan's house"... Apparently, MJ lived here, Tiger Woods had a house behind this one, Madonna was down the street and some other celebrities made this their vacation homes. Who knew?

Sam, trying to catch some bait (no fake pink octopi for this trip!)

Bait's caught!

Captain Al with coffee!

The boy's, fishing away! Talk about 'hunting and gathering'!

I came totally prepared this time, as the last fishing trip had gotten a tad long by hour 5. This time, I was equipped with ipod and speakers, hoping that maybe some Madonna or Elvis Crespo would make the fish want to come on board our boat. Alas, no such luck, but at least there was dancing!

We caught some tuna! We tried for the big fish, but the nice small tuna decided that they would sacrifice themselves for us. Wasn't that nice of them?

Eeeew... this one was a bleeder.

Tuna!

The boy's, and their catch of the day!
Poor Sam, no 300 pound marlins for him!

And off to our next hotel, the Allegro Papagayo All-Inclusive Resort! This was a GREAT hotel, with bars everywhere that served Bahama Mamas. Steps from its own private beach and complete with great pool, ping pong, and buffet-style food, we had a great time. The first day, we pretty much went from bar to bar for Bahama Mamas as they were free and frequent  :)

Here, you can view the bar that reached out into the pool. More Bahama Mamas!

A great look-out tower where the above photos were taken

Our own private beach with salt-and-pepper sand

Again, Sam with the bugs. This one, though, happens to be quite cute... almost smiling. Probably was scared to death... crazy tourists!

The view from the lobby

The only bad food we had on our vacation was in this Italian restaurant, so we drank heavily to avoid thinking about it. Gotta love champagne on vacation!
