Day 3 was snorkeling, snorkeling and more snorkeling. We started
off early in the morning so we could avoid the windy afternoon and traipsed over
to the ocean, rented some fins, and dove in. We were snorkeling for only a
little while when I caught Sam heading back to shore. I went over to see what
had happened, and his reply was to take a big drag on his cigarette and explain
to me that he needed "oxygen". Ok... A little suspicious to me, but apparently I
wouldn't understand since I'm not a smoker. Hmph.
After quite some time in the ocean being unsuccessful
(the wind was pretty steady), we headed back to our lush hotel for some
snorkel time in the pool.. to get the hang of it. A couple of cocktails
later, some serious lounging in the hottub and we were ready for
anything. Anyone for dinner?

Playa Ocotal
Our beach, where we had been snorkeling earlier.

This was where we had been swimming earlier... As you can see, a little
tricky to get close to the rocks to see the fish if you're caught in the
swirling waters that constantly try to kill you.

We arrived at the Ocotal Beach Resort right before sunset,
and what a beautiful view for a FANTASTIC meal!

Aaaaw, aren't we cute?

Trying to take our own photos...

All my freckles came out to play in Costa Rica... FRECKLES!

A little champagne, anyone?

Mmmmm

Aaaah, Costa Rica.

Welcome to
'Roca Bruja Restaurant'
A little salmon caprese for starters (with pesto sauce - yummy!)

And a little octopus for the gentleman (eeew! No tentacles for me!)

Very funny...

Is this a postcard, or what?

A little lobster... a little after-dinner drink. What a rough life it
is!

As we were enjoying the final touches on dinner, a herd of raccoons came
out of the wilderness to provide us with entertainment! They would run
about, flip onto their backs, and start scratching their stomachs
wildly! The waiter told us they came every night to beg for food, and I
must say, if I was still eating, they would have definitely gotten some
from me. What fun!
